Others simply shut down. This product is one of the few I've tried that will actually work in my Honda Odyssey van to power my laptop.
I'mgood for as long as the truck stands up. I'm using a 20 dollar computer speaker andthis 15 dollar power inverter and my Creative Zen. does everything I want it for. To power someloudspeakers in my 16 year old Nissan Pathfinder.The speaker connection in the truck has long agobeen severed, so my set up is the best for meright now.
The position changing thing was useful for not getting in the way and fitting nicely in the slot.Good product - if you're going to use it. Not loud, but a bit bulky though. This product was good.I bought it because I was going on a long road trip through California and thought I would need it to charge my mobile, iPOD, computer and so on. Turns out I didn't need it all that much and used it very little.From what I got from it, it workd fine and was good for what it was supposed to do.
I burned my finger on the side contact. The only problem I've run in to is that the electric contacts on the cigarette lighter plug get HOT after 20 minutes or so. I have had this inverter for about 6 months now. It works well, even over several hours' duration, as long as the cooling fan and air vents aren't obstructed.
Have not tested the USB output. So far I'm greatly pleased. Have not yet used it in summer conditions under much warmer temperatures, but works great in the cooler temps of Winter/Spring. Cooling fan did not produce excessive noise in my first use, and in fact, was hardly noticeable.
